The course creates conditions for linking theoretical and practical training of future teachers in the form of pedagogical observations at selected secondary schools, subsequent analyzes and discussions on key topics of teaching practice, such as preparation for teaching, evaluation, selection and adaptation of materials, classroom management, individualization of teaching, cooperation with parents, beginning teachers, etc. The core of the course will be observations of secondary school teachers during teaching (3 x 4 lessons) and their subsequent analysis in the presence of the relevant teacher.
According to the current possibilities, students will also try their own teaching in smaller sections (preparation of one activity or assisting teachers or tandem learning). Students will become familiar with various observation techniques and acquire the skills to apply them in practice and choose appropriate techniques for various purposes.
They will also learn to give feedback to the teacher in the form of a post-observation analysis and observation protocol. They will also learn about the possibilities of applying observational skills for the purposes of pedagogical, didactic and action research.
The course is designed as preparation for mandatory teaching practice within the so-called pedagogical minimum and develops the ability to have a reflective approach to the teaching profession.
