Annotation
The course on Tove Jansson comprises short lectures on the life of the Finnish-Swedish artist followed by discussions and short written assignments on her and her work. The artist will be explored from various angles: as a writer – she wrote for both adults and children –, painter, illustrator, cartoonist, political caricaturist, and the creator of the Moomins and their world.
The aim of the course is to introduce the students to this artist of many skills but also to give them a chance to improve their oral and written Finnish.
