Class at Faculty of Arts |
AFS100705

Annotation

This course will focus on the most significant philosophical works of Frege that were not covered in the course “Frege od A do Z”. The core will be Frege’s book The Foundations of Arithmetic but we will study also other classical texts (for example, Function and Concept, On Concept and Object, and some parts of Basic Laws of Arithmetic).

We will explore the origins of modern logic and analytical philosophy in Frege’s work. The central topics will be Frege’s philosophy of mathematics, his antipsychologism, and logicism.
