The subject of the seminar is a commented reading of the Latin work Idiota de sapientia (1450) by the important Renaissance philosopher Mikuláš Kusánský. The work is considered to be the first writing of the author's second creative period and follows his earlier writings De docta ignorantia and De coniecturis.
Characteristic of this period is, among other things, the use of the dialogical form, in which the main character is an "Idiota", i.e. an "unlearned" or "layman". It is through his mouth that the author expresses his thoughts, here specifically about wisdom, or divine Wisdom.
