Moral Responsibility (taught in English)
Tutor: Christopher Cowley
This course will examine the philosophical concept of moral responsibility in various contexts, and some related concepts that link past to present (e.g. blame, excuses, forgiveness, remorse, punishment). We will also examine collective responsibility, responsibility for one's character, and the role of luck. In addition, we will look at what it means to be responsible, to take responsibility and to hold someone responsible. All readings will be in English.
Assessment will comprise two essays, each of 1000 words.
