Anotace
Ať už v odborných kruzích či populární kultuře se často setkáváme s ambivalentním pojmem techniky, který stojí mezi emancipací a nadvládou. Překotný vývoj techniky v 19. a 20. století na jednu stranu vzbuzuje víru v možnost osvobození člověka, na druhou způsobuje obavy a někdy až existenciální úzkost ze směru společenského vývoje. Otázka techniky je pro celou řadu autorů a autorek ústřední pro pochopení povahy modernity. V rámci semináře se pokusíme poukázat na pojmovou souvislost mezi technikou jako artefaktem, v kterém se zpředmětňuje vztah mezi věděním, prací a přírodou, technickou racionalitou jako specifickou formou diskursivity, a technokracií jako způsobem řízení státu a společnosti na paradigmatických textech dějin myšlení 19. a 20. století. Vítáni jsou všichni, kdo se zajímají o problémy společenských důsledku rozvoje techniky a technické racionality. Seminář probíhá zejména formou rozboru textů, které se věnují jednotlivým tematickým okruhům.
Whether within professional circles or the popular culture, we often witness the ambivalent concept of technology, positioned somewhere between emancipation and domination. On one side, rampant development of technology in the 19th and 20th century raised the hope for possible human liberation, on the other, it makes people worry, sometimes even existentially anxious, due to the direction of social development. For many authors, the issue of technology is central to a better understanding of the nature of modernity.
Within the scope of seminar, we will try to point out the conceptual link between technology as an artefact, in which the relation between knowledge, work and nature is objectified, and technical rationality as a specific form of discursivity and technocracy as a way of administration of the state and society.
Anyone interested in the issue of development of technology and technical rationality and its consequences for society is most welcome. Mainly, the seminar will take the form of analyzing texts dedicated to particular topics.
