This course is aimed to provide an introduction to user research in terms of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Key features, especially the user as the core aspect of HCI discipline, will be introduced, including user mental models, information behavior and cognitive aspects of the human-computer interaction and information seeking process. Such characteristics are key elements for information system and interface design process as well as for end user modeling. Some topics will be introduced by guest speakers. As an outcome of this course, students will conduct a model user behavior research of researchers in selected disciplines.

The course is intended for master students, however does not require any prerequisites. A final exam is required to earn the credit.
