Annotation
This course will be focusing on important personalities of book culture who had earned a reputation as the leading authorities in modern history of Czech book. The lectures will be focusing on the development of the field concerned - typography, illustration, printing in the context of art and culture.
First of all will be reflecting the tradition of manuscripts in book art of Zdenka Braunerova then the symbolic illustration in Frantisek Kobliha art, new tendency in typography of Karel Teige, the typology of covers in Josef Capek art. Participants will have a chance to see the images as well as commentary to it.
