Information retrieval belongs to the core parts of information studies and librarianship. This course will deal both with a broader context of the subject (e.g. human information behavior, relevance, open access to scientific information) and its specifics (e.g. key processes in IR, search strategies, use of Boolean operators and other tools). announcement for students: our first lesson of "Introduction to information retrieval" course takes place on Monday 13th October 2014
