Annotation
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of statistics.
The topics of descriptive statistics (average, median, types of data distribution, frequency, etc.) will be discussed in detail. Emphasis will be placed on practical application. Graduates will be able to use basic statistical methods and interpret results.
Microsoft Excel is chosen as a tool of application of statistics. Course is also an introduction to work with a spreadsheet, data import, control, calculations above them and visualization. Relevant functions, their chaining, work with larger data automation data packages will be presented.
In the case of distance learning, the online Zoom platform will be used.
It is expected from students, that they will work on their own notebooks with Microsoft Excel (version 2010 or higher) instaled. It is possible to use Office 365 available under faculty licence https://office.ff.cuni.cz/
