Brief characteristics of the course:
Students shall perform 100 hours/year in two different types of organizations and participate in consequent supervisions and methodological seminars. The aim is to ensure the following:
- Students are able to identify the diversity of social work activities, specifics of individual target groups and workplaces.
- Students get identified with social work as a profession.
- Students are able to identify and use selected methods of social work.
- Students can apply theoretical knowledge into practice.
- Students are able to recognize their own possibilities and limits.
- Students are able to identify ethical dilemmas and reflect their attitudes towards them.
- Students are able to identify the value system, good practice, organizational structure and conceptual activities of the workplace.
- Students are able to perform an individual interview with a client and cooperate in a team.
- Students are able to reflect on themselves and their experience as well as on their personal and professional development.
- Students are able to identify and formulate their orders for supervision and use supervision as a reflection tool.
Final examination:
Students shall be evaluated based upon the quality of their report of field placement incl. attachments, evaluation made by the tutor of field placement, active participation and min. 80% attendance in supervision and methodological seminars. Students shall also continually builds their portfolio of professional practice and submit it for review at the end of the summer semester.
