Annotation

The course introduces the basic psychological concepts - psychological terminology, psychological schools and directions and the main theoretical and applied areas of psychology and methods of psychological research, and especially the applied psychological issues within the field of social work. The course aims to explain the nature of psychology as an empirical science; to introduce the basic specific features of psychological constructs, theories, definitions and methods; to teach learners to orient themselves to the basic psychological areas and issues they address; and to teach students critical scientific thinking skills when considering common psychological issues within social work practice.
