Thematic Modules - Erasmus courses

These modules consist of different lectures offered by various departments and institutions of the Faculty of Arts. The attendance is mandatory and there is limited number of students who can attend these classes. Credits from this module are awarded based on attendance only.
All the modules are ungraded courses - grading is based on pass/fail only.
Rhetoric and Mnemonics as Essentials Skills of a Scholar - EN 4 ECTS max. 15 students 2 hours/week 12 weeks
Monday: 10:00-11:30 (room 203, 2nd floor, building of the Institute of Translation Studies -
Ústav translatologie, Hybernská street 3, Prague 1)
Credits for this module are awarded based on attendance only. One absence is allowed.
The course starts on Monday 25.2.2013 and will continue all the semester

The aim of this essentially practical course is to teach the participants how to deliver successful and effective presentations at international conferences. We will concentrate on how to attract the attention of the audience, how to make one’s presentation comprehensible and memorable, and how to gain confidence for speaking in the public. No prior experience with rhetoric or mnemonics required.
