The Subject Odborná angličtina a čeština v kontextu kazuistické výuky / Applied Medical English and Czech in a Case-Based Learning
Approach has as objective to promote communicative skills of students in medical English. It uses an innovative foreign language learning approach (problem-based or task-based learning). Students analyze productively (in group discussion) selected clinical cases and work towards a differential diagnosis, present and justify their results, being supported and supervised by instructors (English teacher and medical doctor). English is the language of communication, case-based data are presented in both Czech and English. The method of instruction integrate language and content learning therefore advanced clinical knowledge of students is expected and required.
