Annotation

Module IIC is the single largest part of master's curriculum of the Third Faculty of Medicine. Charles University. It begins in the 6th week of the 6th term and continues up to the end of the IVth year, lasting altogether full 40 weeks. Module IIC consists of 19 courses of 1 - 4 week duration that focus on basic clinical problems. Special parts of pathology, pathophysiology and pharmacology are linked to clinical pictures typical for given groups of basic clinical problems. Students are taught to identify the problems and to find and analyze their causes. During each course, student becomes acquainted with current diagnostic procedures and indication and interpretation of common laboratory and imaging methods. As appropriate, differential diagnosis of the main syndromes is discussed as well as basic therapeutic approaches, prognosis and preventive measures.

The examination form module IIC takes place at the end of the 8th term. It has been repeatedly modified and its optimal arrangement is still being sought. The module examination is preceded by self-standing examination from pharmacology.
