In the 6th year, a 8-week block of final practical training takes place at surgical clinics. In the eight weeks, students must complete 1 week at the workplace of general surgery.
The next 7 weeks of practice take place in other surgical fields: orthopedics, plastic surgery, burn medicine, urology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and anesthesiology and resuscitation. The internship can be completed at the Královské Vinohrady University Hospital or other contract hospitals in the Czech Republic; in the case of an internship at a non-contract hospital, this hospital must have a contract with the 3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University.
The clinical internship can also be completed at foreign accredited or university workplaces. The 9th week is reserved for preparation for the final state exam.
