This course focuses on current development of the IP law legislation on the European level. Specifically we would be dealing with the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market.
We would be searching for reasons and motivations of this directive as well as on detailed analysis of the specific provisions, which are currently heavily discussed as the "directive" is about to be implemented into the national legislations. After introduction, the class would be divided into two groups, where we would be looking into specific Articles, where we would be searching for arguments from different point of views and different interests groups.
To understand better the legislative process at the European Parliament we will be preparing "Moot Parliament discussions" as well as "lobbyist sessions", for that purposes we would be divided into small groups and therefore maximum number of students in class should be 20. Very good knowledge of English is required and basic knowledge of IP Law would be advantage.
