Annotation

This subject focuses on deeper form of critical thinking about media and their role in society. It offers the students an area of interpretation of the artistic production as a peculiar and irreplaceable testimony about the world and society, therefore also about media, where deeper structures of values (ideology) have their expression.

The course will introduce on the examples of literature and film (TV) how the role, behaviour and position of the media mirrors in the esthecised expression and how the representation of media changes during time. The course uses basic analytical tools of the literature and film (TV) analysis, it is orientated on the interpretation of the works of art with media thematic (both as main or minor theme).

The aim of the course is to lead the students to an attempt to make individual interpretation of the work of art with media thematic, including it´s ranging in historical context, context of values and aesthetics.
