Course Description:
This course aims to introduce some basic principles of economics and entrepreneurship. Case studies help students understand the entrepreneurial concepts in the new digital era. This course will also equip students for orientating their careers in a world of dynamics business models under the influence of new media.
Required Textbook:
No Textbook Required. Any ‘introduction to economics’ book will help students familiarize the basic concepts introduced in the early weeks of the course.

Evaluation & Grading:
Since this course balances theoretical and practical aspects of the relationship between new media and entrepreneurship in the digital era, students are given three essay options.
Option 1: Final Paper:
Critical Evaluation of a Digital Enterprise/Start-Up
Option 2: Final Project:
A start-up project proposal
Papers and projects are to be presented individually. All presentations and paper submissions are individual assignments, not group projects.
Option 3: Group Project
A new start-up idea will be presented. A group needs to be composed of four people; under the condition that groups should be with at least three different nationalities.
Grading:
Written Essay (75%)
Presentation (25%)
Attendance is not mandatory.
