The aim of this course is to introduce students to the complex and interconnected fields of media and migration. The students will gain in-depth knowledge on topics such as the news coverage of the 2015 ‘migration crisis’, the importance of social media platforms in migration processes or the question of transnational intimacy and identity. The course builds on both lectures and lively interactions, discussions and co-analysis of media texts.
