Annotation
Předmět sleduje vývoj regionu v jeho moderní fázi s důrazem na národotvorné procesy, vnější kontext (versailleský systém, nacismus a sovětský blok), roli konfliktů (první a druhá světová válka a studená válka), transformační trendy (komunismus, postkomunistická transformace) a snahy o vnitřní i vnější integrace.
