Annotation

Learning outcomes of the course unit: The course acquaints the students with the basic of Christian spirituality, which originated whithin the history of Western European civilization (in respect to Catholic and Protestant traditions). The students are first introduced to the theoretical basis on which the Western-Christian spirituality is based.

Subsequently, its specific manifestations in history are described. Through the prominent personalities of Christianity, the essential schools of Catholic spirituality: Augustinian, Benedictine, Dominican, Franciscan, Carmelite, Devotio Modern, Ignacian, Oratorian, Salesian, Pasionist or Redemptorist.

In addition to the aforementioned religious forms of spirituality, lay and Protestant spirituality and their importance in Christian history will also be included.
