Annotation
The course will introduce into Catholic social teaching in historical and systematic perspective. Attention will be paid to the fundamentals of Catholic social teaching, the overview of historical development before the first social encyclical Rerum novarum (1891), and the presentation of the subsequent development of Catholic social teaching to the present.
The social encyclicals and important ecclesial documents on social issues will be presented in their historical and theological context.
