The students of the course will be introduced to the methodological questions of dogmatic theology. On this basis, they will be acquainted with the doctrine of the mystery of the Triune God.
The starting point will be the biblical testimony: the Old Testament preparation and the New Testament revelation of God as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This will be followed by the historical outline of the reflection of the trinitarian mystery from antiquity to the present.
Emphasis will be put on current issues. Finally, a systematic interpretation of the Trinitarian theology will be presented: the relationship between the economic and immanent Trinity, the issue of appropriation, the Trinity and interreligious dialogue.
