In the academic year 2021/2022, the course will be located in the centers of fungal diversity in temperate Europe, Šumava NP. The course will allow to the students to combine the field sampling and classical morphology based identification of fungi with analysis of DNA sequences of selected molecular markers as another method of organisms identification. Approximate plan includes also student presentations on their topics combined with lectures and workshops of recognized European mycologists.
The expanses will be partly or completely covered by a joint project of the Charles Uni. and Uni. of Warsaw. Therefore, only highly motivated and experienced students will be selected to participate on the course. Official language during this course will be English.
Saprotrophic and parasitic fungi are demonstrated during the excursion together with symptomes on plants. Students work on their own taxonomical projects and present their result at the end of the excursion.
Students may participate on the excursions only after passing Mycology B120P18 or Biology of non-vascular plants B120P76I.
