The course explains the scientific essence and structure of geography and its links to other natural and social sciences: definition of geography, the theoretical and practical importance of geographical branches and their specialization, scientific branches of physical geography, geoecology, cartography, geoinformatics, social, economic and regional geography in the context of other natural and social sciences, including relevant examples of their development and application.
