Syllabus

The course focuses on the core vocabulary of selected mathematical disciplines. The topics correspond to those of the international exam Unicert III - English for Mathematicians.

Students’ ability to use the vocabulary in academic-level discourse is developed by various communicative tasks. The course also aims at the development of presentation skills.

Individual presentations are related to the discussed disciplines as well as to the students' own research.

Annotation

English for specific purposes (ESP) - grammar, vocabulary, style, specialized texts on mathematics. The course is a preparation course for an international examination in English for mathematicians and it is included in the credit system of the Faculty. The credit is a one of the requirements for the examination English for Mathematicians,

UNIcert III.

Enrollment in this subject is limited. The subject is open for students from the second year of their study.
