Syllabus

Topics: Number and numerical operations, relationship whole - part, relationships, data handling, geometry. Looking for context which are suitable for teaching a particular topic. Real-life problems. Open problems.

Annotation

The course focuses on preparing the students for their future teaching. Students' mathematical culture is being developed and their positive approach to pupils is being encouraged.

We try to connect the knowledge of mathematics and didactics of mathematics gained through previous instruction and to survey primary school mathematics education in a comprehensive way. The cohesion with other areas (psychology, pedagogy, natural sicences,...) will be studied as well.

Students are encouraged to make records of their experience in their future teaching and to use them to improve their work.
