Time: 8 seminars during the academic year (1 per month)
The course is intended primarily for the postgraduate students of pedagogy - didactics of French language and literature; it is also open to other interested parties with knowledge of French. In the case of interest, the course may be after certain modifications implemented in Czech.
Characteristics: The main topics and methods of the French comparative literature in relation to European and narrowly Czech literary history will be viewed from the perspective of their application in the teaching of foreign languages and literature and its connection to the national literature. Comparative Literature as a tool to improve and enrich the literary education in general.
The proposed study topics: What is Comparative Literary and what are the possibilities of its use in within the national literature. Is there any European literature? Significant stages of the development. Literature and national traditions. The novel as a genre and its evolution. Novel and mimesis, or ways to view reality. The development of the theater - epic, tragedy, comedy. Mythology and literary myths.
