Understanding empirical research and theoretical work in art subjects within general education, in particular in Visual Culture Art Education.

The dynamics of the relationship between the qualitative and quantitative research components.

Principles of quantitative research and basic information to its methods - working with variables, collection and processing of data, overview of data classification, data mining and a statistical analysis.

Basic research methods in Pedagogy.

The tradition of aesthetical - empirical aesthetics.

The issue of defining categories (variables), processing of empirical data and deduction of theoretical knowledge.

Concept analysis in the context of curricular studies and instruction quality research.

Coding - levels of coding.

Triangulation of researchers and research validity.

Methods of qualitative analysis of artistic expressions in art education using the example of methodology of creating anchored theories of A. Strauss.

Using software for qualitative analysis using the system Atlas.ti as an example.

Annotation

The concept of the subject is based on using Schön´s concept of reflective practice, and in terms of methodology it is based on qualitative research procedures, in particular action research. In terms of quantitative research, important principles of correct preparation of research projects are adopted, along with the principles of working with variables, collection and processing of data in particular in the field of pedagogical communication and evaluation.
