Annotation
The content of the course is based on text as a language element which has a thematical, compositional and linguistic component resulting in text semantics with a concrete reference and function. Topics:
1. Text linguistics and stylistics in the context of other linguistic disciplines;
2. The concepts text and style;
3. Communication styles and types of texts, functions of texts;
4. Textuality;
5. Composition of texts and topic development;
6. Coherence and cohesion, paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations, superficial and deep levels of texts;
7. Characteristics, figures and elements creating a style as particularities of concrete language material. The seminars will focus on practise of text-stylistic analysis on the example of concrete texts representing different functional styles.
