The sociology of education is a borderline discipline on the border between sociology and pedagogy. This course deals with topics from the definition of this discipline through the paradigms of sociology to specific problems of sociology of education such as globalization, gender issues, the relationship between education and social structure of society, the function of education and school, etc. The aim of the course is to point to current sociological topics in connection with education, to connect knowledge of sociology and pedagogy, especially in areas related to the educational process and institutions.
