Video analysis of English language teaching at lower secondary level and at upper secondary level

Annotation

The study subject overarches already studied subjects of ELT methodology. The aim is to further develop students’ professional vision through analysing video recordings of English language lessons from the context of lower secondary and upper secondary schools.

Students will develop, use and evaluate own reflective tools. According to the actual possibilities, students will do a project “Videostudy” in groups – i.e. planning and realization of recording a video of a selected English lesson taught by a selected teacher.

It will include obtaining data related to the educational context, such as lesson planning, lesson reflection, wider context (e.g. teaching philosophy and approaches, school environment, etc.). The study subject will end by presentations of the projects.
