Class at Faculty of Education |

Annotation

In addition to individual instruction, orchestral practice and playing in a chamber orchestra are necessary for the application of players to a musical instrument. The chamber orchestra of the Faculty of Education, Charles University is intended only for string players.

The teaching of orchestral practice is to bring experience in ensemble playing, where collective work, adaptability, perception of their playing in accordance with other instruments are necessary, in terms of rhythm, intonation and dynamics. Playing in a chamber orchestra should be a preparation for students to apply in practice from the point of view of professional musicians or teachers, who should be able to work with instrumental polyphony, or lead instrumental ensembles in pedagogical activities.

Within the orchestral practice, students should learn the necessary basics for playing in an orchestra, orient themselves in the composition from a formal point of view, orient themselves in their group, learn to play in an instrumental group, respond to the gestures of the conductor. Playing in a chamber orchestra should expand students' repertoire with knowledge of chamber and orchestral compositions.

The teaching includes public performances, which are the culmination of creative work, but will also bring students experience with behavior and performance on the concert stage. Creative cooperation, presentations at concerts of the faculty and the university, acquaintance with the organizational operation of the orchestra - all this is an important motivating factor for the future study and work of a versatile music teacher.
