Annotation

The aim of the course is to explain the concept of IT thinking and its importance in the learning of preschool children, to get to know the didactic parameters of selected robotic toys for preschool education and to try selected activities. The subject will focus on key IT concepts and didactic approaches to their formation in preschool children based on discovery during activities with and without robotic toys with an emphasis on the development of children's algorithmic and logical thinking.

Attention will also be paid to the connections between the development of children's IT thinking when working with robotic toys and the acquisition of some mathematical concepts and ideas, with manual skills, with children's technical thinking and creativity. Working with robotic toys opens up space for children's natural curiosity about how things work, and for their imagination and aesthetic sense, including reading literacy.
