Syllabus

The following topics will be discussed:

Diagnosis of people with visual impairment across age categories (early age, school age, adolescence, adulthood).

Adjusting the environment for people with visual impairments across age categories (early age, school age, adolescence, adulthood).

Visual stimulation and visual training.

Work with child with CVI - defect diagnostics, possibilities of visual support.

Reeducation aids optical and non-optical.Fundamentals of spatial orientation and independent movement of persons with visual impairments, compensatory and reeducational aids for orientation and mobility.

Annotation

Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints with basic methods of functional examination of eyesight, abilities of visual stimulation and visual training in children, adolescents, adults and seniors with congenital and acquired visual impairment. In view of the overall therapy of people with severe visual impairment, the basics of spatial orientation and independent movement of people with low visibility are introduced.
