Annotation
At the beginning will be explained the basic terms concerning the definition of the region, forms and methods of its historical research and the position of historical regionalism within Czech and European historiography, including detailed typology of relevant literature. Subsequent lectures will focus mainly on relevant written sources, then on cartographic, iconographic and photographic sources.
The content of the seminar part of the course will be in the first phase of the work with editions of sources. This will be followed by a more detailed introduction to selected professional and popularizing works, with an emphasis on students' ability to critically evaluate them independently.
The basic method of work in the exercises is the research and practical use of the history and cultural and historical heritage of a particular region selected by the student.
