This course introduces students to current theories in the field of art education. Students deepen their analytical and interpretive skills. They also learn to perceive the deeper social and cultural contexts of selected artifacts of art culture. They acquire an understanding of the national curriculum with respect to these contexts, thematizing the content of art education. They expand their functional vocabulary of art education. In practical exercises, they learn to link their ability to work with visual culture works with other important categories of didactic planning. The more extensive content of the Didactics of Art Education II program will allow full curriculum students a deeper dive into the subject matter and will be fulfilled through modification of the requirements for students.
Visual Semiotics and Communication. Analysis, comparison, and evaluation of media and forms of visual communication and art. Visual Literacy. Social and cultural contexts of visual literacy. Inclusive education and cultural habitus.
