Annotation

Modeling - a visual and haptic approach to the world. Integral perception of the modeled and observed object in the aspect of its physicality.

Modeling as a space for reality observation and for imagination. Modeling studies through etudes, which lead to the matter apprehension, capturing silhouette and proportions, expressing volume, directions of surfaces, and edges of an object.

Syllabus: modeling of simple etudes using sculpture clay, which are focused on exercising perception of shape and overall character of the modeled object. Then follow studies of specific shapes of various objects and their details, enlarging the detail while maintaining the proportions of the original.

Next phase of modeling is the study of a head as a possibility of experiencing certain principles shown by the etudes. Keywords: sculpture, statue, relief, proportions, material, shape, mass, volume.

Reflection of personal creative process within lessons or the current semester topic.
