TÉMA 4: grammatical and lexical morphology, elements of morphology, word classes, conversion
TÉMA 5: nouns and pronouns and their grammatical categories, adjectives and adverbs
TÉMA 6: English verb, verb phrase and its structure
Annotation
Introduction to the Study of Language familiarises students with general liguistic terms such as language structure, language development and language typology. The aim is to introduce students to the complexity of the system and different manners of its analysis.
Second half of the course is based on structural-functional approach to language and it focuses on the morphological characteristics of word classes including conversion.
