Syllabus

Within the subject of education of gifted students, the course contents include:

1. Theory of Gifting.

2. Educational diagnostics of exceptionally gifted students.

3. Characteristics of talented students and their educational needs and potential problems.

4. Acceleration and enrichment as the basic strategy of gifted education, its forms, benefits and risks

5. Individual educational plan, its creation and implementation in the common class

6. Methods, forms of work and assessment suitable for gifted students

7. Collaboration with family, PPP and support organisations in care and gifted students

8. In the context of the education of students with a different mother tongue

9. Introduction to migration

10. Education of students with a different mother tongue at Czech schools

11. Legislative framework of education of children and students with a different mother tongue in Czech schools

12. Principles of working with students with a different mother tongue

13. Encourage the inclusion of a student with a different mother tongue

14. Teaching Czech as a second language

15. Creating an individual education plan or a balancing plan and evaluating students with a different mother tongue

Annotation

This course prepares future teachers for work in the classroom of primary schools, especially for working with students with extraordinarily talented students and students with a different mother tongue. It further develops the general didactic competence of students to individualise and differentiate teaching so that they can create a safe, motivating and supportive environment for the learning of these students and enable them to maximise their potential.
