The course develops the research competence of students. It focuses on deeper understanding of how pedagogical research can contribute to solving practice problems - introduces examples of real research to illustrate the breadth of methodological approaches and the richness of the research instrument. Content definition:
1. The relationship between theory and practice. Scientific literacy and research competence of the teacher. A scientific approach to learning about reality. Action research as a means of developing teacher's professionalism.
2. Topics of educational research in the Czech Republic and abroad. Renowned workplaces, significant discoveries of pedagogical research - inspiration for their own educational experiments.
3. Theoretical basis for research - resource availability and research.
4. Creation of research, formulation of research problem, determination of research questions, choice of research design.
5. Phase of research, entry into the field.
6. Child as a specific case of the respondent. Research ethics.
7. Research methods and techniques, their possibilities and limitations (validity, reliability, influence of researcher's subjectivity).
8. Data processing and data interpretation. Basic statistical functions.
9. Sharing of research results, presentation / publication of research report (educational journals, conferences).
