This seminar is a follow-up to two courses, namely Text Linguistics and Stylistics, and Pragmatics. It consolidates, broadens and develops the knowledge and skills already gained.
The seminar activities explore diverse approaches to text and discourse, which are demonstrated and applied to authentic samples of various text-types, genres, styles, registers, varieties, etc. The course provides students with analytical instruments, cultivates their stylistic sensitivity and enhances their interpretive erudition.
