The aim of the course is to introduce the major schools, approaches and trends of literary theory from the second half of the 20th century to the present, particularly structuralist, psychoanalytical, reception, marxist and feminist theories as a basis for the poststructuralist and postmodernist theories. In all these cases the course also introduces the major thinkers and representatives of these critical schools. The theoretical part of the couse is practically demonstrated on selected English-written literary texts. Themes:
