Special seminar

Class at Faculty of Education |
OPND2D112B

Annotation

A New Teacher’s Survival Guide. The special seminar is aimed at didactic assessment of the pros and cons of teaching history (with special focus on contemporary history).

The relationship will be scrutinized that exists between historiography, history as a school subject and culture in its general historical sense, with the help of experience from the teaching practice. Novice school teachers or heritage educators are liable to disillusionment as a result of palpable divergence of didactic theory and the actual practice.

They ask for advice about how to inspire school children, how to reduce the amount of schoolwork, how to plead for public appreciation of history before other school subjects, etc.
