Annotation

The course is the first meeting of students of the follow-up master's study with the practice of teaching art education at primary schools, grammar schools and basic art schools. Students take turns in pairs or small groups in observations at selected schools, make records of lessons, get acquainted with the running of the school, the daily school reality and also with the special concept of teaching and the results of the work of the visited teachers.

In joint reflective meetings, they learn to concisely and effectively characterize their experiences and knowledge, compare them with the knowledge gained through the study of sources and gradually create and learn to use the active vocabulary of an art teacher. Based on observations in class, they follow the educational goals and the course of teaching, learn to work with curricular documents and create their own ideas about the form of teaching.

The aim of the course is to develop students' creative and open approach to teaching, to the content and forms of art education in different school environments and in different social and cultural contexts. Students establish their pedagogical portfolio of records, documents and reflections on listening practice and learn to observe lessons taught and assess them in the broader context of the teacher's work.

They learn the procedures of conceptual analysis of lessons. Students are aware of, reflect and refine their ideas about the forms and contents of art education, they know the importance of open communication between teachers and students.

They also develop their ability to perceive a specific situation in relation to the needs and abilities of students or clients. Based on the analysis of pedagogical situations and specific outcomes, students formulate their own concept of teaching art education, which they further refine in joint discussions.
