The course deals with possibilities and methodological tools of contemporary comparative art pedagogy in the sense of science, its framework and approaches (comparative pedagogy and approaches of social sciences: sociology, psychology and ethnology, empirical, intercultural, interdisciplinary approach, comparative pedagogy and quantitative, qualitative research), definition of requirements for comparison (equivalent phenomena, choice of common criteria or categories and methods of comparison, knowledge of international standards, taking into account the specific features of education systems, context of interpretation of research discoveries, field traditions, language and thinking). Particular attention is paid to the orientation of the current European aims of education and visual literacy, comparison of Czech education with foreign countries
