The fundamental pillars of the subject are the competencies related to the leadership and organization in the application of various gymnastic exercises, which are diverse in their focus. These exercises encompass learning a wide range of basic gymnastic skills and methodological principles for the development of physical abilities within the realm of gymnastics.
The culmination of this development of motor skills and the acquisition of specific skills is integrated into gymnastic motor-functional preparation, allowing students to apply strengthening, supportive, hanging, rotational, bouncing, and landing sub-preparations from gymnastic motor-functional preparation to the field of coaching in their specialization. Fundamental gymnastics also offers a rich repertoire of exercises found within various gymnastic activities, which can be applied to other physical interventions unrelated directly to gymnastic activities.
Finally, the subject also includes basic theoretical knowledge regarding body posture and the biomechanics of physical exercises, which are applied in practice, especially within gymnastic activities.
