1. – 2. What is science, functions, features, theory, induction and deduction, paradigm, basic difference between quantitative and qualitative paradigm 3. – 4.

Structure of research, research problem, research question, operationalization, hypothesis, research project 5, - 6. Research designs, quantitative and qualitative designs, basic difference between observational and experimental designs 7. – 8.

Introduction to sampling methods, population, sample, representativeness, introduction to data gathering methods, research ethics 9. – 10. Introduction to descriptive statistics, location, variability, shape, normal distribution 11. – 12.

Relationship between two variables (covariance, Pearson’s r, chi-square test] 13. – 14. Validity and reliability of measurement

Annotation

The main objective of this course is to provide students an overview of research methods used by empirical researchers in behavioral sciences including Kinanthropology (sport sciences).
