Why, what and how to preach? The course introducts to the homiletics conceived as the crucial way of communication of the Gospel in the contemporary pluralistic society. It deals with its theological foundation (why do we preach?), the task of preaching (what is it good for?), the content of preaching (what do we preach?) and its form (how do we preach?).
It focuses on the actual questions of preaching (preaching as an acting communication; preaching in person; the listener; preaching on the Old Testament texts; sermon and liturgy etc.) and presents current homiletical tendencies (New homiletics in the USA; sermon as an open work of art; dramaturgical homiletics).
